Snoofi ("we", "us", "our") respects your privacy and is committed to protecting the personal information of everyone who visits thesnoofi.com or purchases from us. This policy explains what we collect, why, how it's used, and how you can access or correct it. It's written to align with the Australian Privacy Principles (APPs) under the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth). Our store is powered by Shopify, which also processes personal information on our behalf and, in some cases, in its own right — see "Our Relationship with Shopify" below.

We collect personal information that you provide directly, and information collected automatically when you use our site.
Information you provide:
•    Contact details — name, email, phone number, delivery and billing address
•    Financial information — payment details, processed securely by our payment providers (we do not store full card numbers)
•    Account information — username, password and account preferences, if you create an account
•    Transaction information — items viewed, added to cart or purchased, order and return history
•    Communications — anything you send us via email, contact forms or social media
Information collected automatically:
•    Device information — IP address, browser type, device and connection details
•    Usage information — pages viewed, time on site, referring URLs, how you navigate the site
•    Cookies and similar tracking technologies (see Section 5)

2.How We Collect Information

•    From our service providers — such as Shopify, Omnisend and our payment processors, who collect or process information on our behalf

•    Communicate with you about your order, including shipping updates
•    Create and maintain your account, if you have one
•    Send marketing communications (only where you've opted in, and you can unsubscribe anytime)
•    Tailor and improve our website, products and customer experience
•    Run and measure the performance of our advertising
•    Authenticate accounts, prevent fraud, and keep our site secure
•    Comply with our legal and tax obligations

4. Who We Share Your Information With
We share personal information only where necessary to run our business, including with:
•    Shopify — our ecommerce platform, which hosts our store and processes orders
•    Shopify Payments and Afterpay — to process payments securely
•    Omnisend — our email marketing platform, used to send order updates and (where opted in) marketing emails
•    Meta (Facebook/Instagram) — for advertising and measuring ad performance via Meta Pixel (see Section 5)
•    Judge.me — to collect and display product reviews (where applicable)
•    Delivery and freight partners — to fulfil and ship your order
•    Professional advisors — such as our accountant, where required
Shopify also offers personalised advertising features ("Shopify Audiences") that can use data from your activity across Snoofi and other Shopify stores to help us reach likely customers. If you'd prefer not to be included, contact us and we'll action this with Shopify. We do not sell your personal information to third parties.

5. Cookies and Tracking (Including Meta Pixel)
Our site uses cookies and similar technologies, including the Meta Pixel, to:
•    Remember items in your cart
•    Understand how visitors use our site
•    Show you relevant ads on Facebook and Instagram
•    Measure the performance of our advertising campaigns
The Meta Pixel may collect data about your visit and share it with Meta in accordance with Meta's Data Policy (facebook.com/privacy/policy). You can control cookie preferences through your browser settings, and manage ad personalisation through your Facebook/Instagram account settings.

6. Our Relationship with Shopify
Our site is hosted by Shopify, which collects and processes personal information about your use of our store in order to provide and improve its platform. Some information you submit may be shared with Shopify and its service providers, including those located outside Australia. For certain enhanced features, Shopify uses data from your interactions with our store alongside other Shopify merchants — in these cases, Shopify is responsible for that processing, including responding to your requests about it. 7. Data Storage, Security and Retention
Your personal information is stored on secure servers operated by Shopify and our other service providers, some of which may be located outside Australia (including the United States). Where this occurs, we take reasonable steps to ensure your information is handled in line with the Australian Privacy Principles.
We take reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect your personal information, though no method of storage or transmission is completely secure. We keep personal information for as long as needed to provide our services, meet legal and tax obligations, and resolve disputes.

8. International Transfers
If you're ordering from outside Australia, your personal information may be transferred to, stored, and processed in Australia or other countries, including via Shopify's infrastructure. Where personal information is transferred from the EEA or UK, we and Shopify rely on recognised transfer mechanisms such as Standard Contractual Clauses.

•    Request correction of inaccurate information
•    Request deletion of your information, subject to our legal obligations (e.g. tax record-keeping)
•    Request a copy of your information in a portable format, in certain circumstances
•    Opt out of marketing communications at any time (via the unsubscribe link in any email, or by contacting us)
You can exercise these rights yourself, or through an authorised agent — we may ask the agent for proof of authorisation, and may need to verify your identity directly. We won't discriminate against you for exercising any of these rights. 10. Complaints
If you have concerns about how we handle your personal information, contact us using the details below and we'll do our best to resolve it. If you're not satisfied with our response, you can lodge a complaint with the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (OAIC) at oaic.gov.au.

11. Data Breaches
If we become aware of a data breach that is likely to result in serious harm, we will notify affected individuals and the OAIC in accordance with the Notifiable Data Breaches scheme.

12. Children's Privacy
Our website and products are intended for adults purchasing on behalf of their pets. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 18, and do not knowingly share or sell the personal information of anyone under 16. If you're a parent or guardian and believe your child has given us their information, contact us and we'll delete it.

13. Third-Party Links
Our site may link to websites or platforms we don't operate, including social media. We aren't responsible for their privacy practices and recommend reviewing their policies before sharing information with them.
